FANTASIA OF THE MOONLIT WORLD

PART4: SOULS THAT BLEED MOONLIGHT
(* color is the speech of the Phantoms,
* color is the speech of Yamato)

“Approach, traveler from the land forsaken,
And ask what raptures thy Animus seeks,
What powers within thee thou seek to awaken,
What avenues thou wish to see”

“I seek the path to Salvation,
Upon which the world may tread,
To ease the conflict that plagues the nation,
And dry the rivers of red”

“The path thou seek’st, thou shalt behold,
Being full and brimming with dangers;
Would thou still walk that fruitless road
For beings that are but strangers?”

“I seek not fruits for my own taking,
But rather for those who love me;
For those that partook in my making
Into the person you now see!

And in this hour of crazed unrest,
In desperation I ask thee:
In this world with so fallen a crest,
Can there, ever again, be true peace?”

“Thy compassion doth deserve its merit,
Thus we bless you with foresight;
But know that when thy fate thou’lt inherit,
Thy soul shall bleed Moonlight!”

What Ganesha thinks

What My Friend Ganesha And I Think
Just like every year, the arrival of ganesha into the world (to his grandma’s place) was being celebrated with great pomp and joy. I awaited a long queue to greet him and wish my old friend. He beamed with a smile and wished me in return. Just like old days we had a long chat which went on as follows and I thought of putting his views in front of you:
He asked me,” what is it Aditi, Have you also come to get your marks increased for your test or are you wishing to score well in the coming boards!!?” I replied with a sarcastic smile, “what do you think I should choose??!!”, and we ended up laughing in return. I told him that I will handle those tests and he should just enjoy his stay here for a few days.
He couldn’t hear me and asked me to talk loudly saying “With the passage of every year,  my devotees are increasing and I am happy about it. It is nice to know that one can get more laddoos and modaks (he said laughing, and I laughed in return on the joke cracked :P), but with this, the number of decibels  of speakers are also increasing and my ears cannot take it that is why my hearing capacity is decreasing, so it would be great if you talk loudly.” (Trying to sound serious.) As I was talking to him about my daily life the people behind started pushing, waiting for their chance to talk to him, some, trying to fulfill their greedy desires by posing their demands by meeting him. I greeted him again and said that I will talk to him later in the day and wished him good luck with the wish list of people. I then thanked him for a modak that I got there  in the Prasad center, and told him that this was the best part of his visit. We both agreed and had a feast on the modaks given and then I got another punch on my face as someone was trying to grab his share of Prasad. I bid him adieu and wondered on my way back about what ganesha told, suddenly my thought was hindered by a loud blast of cracker, I was shaken to death as it was just near my foot. I went home and got another feast of modaks just out of the frying pan. It was delicious. It would be nice to know that our house was right between two sarvajanik mandaps (the place where ganesha stays in public, during these days :P :D) and in the evening it was great to hear a fusion of two devotional songs. If I was in my bedroom I heard one song and if I were in my drawing room there was another one!! Great isn’t it!!! Imagine the condition in between!!! And do not think I am joking. It is a very true fact!! Each mandap in competition with another, trying to be better than the other one.
So people,
I request you, especially the ones incharge of this mandap committee, to  lower the decibels of the speaker  and try to lessen the pollution caused by reducing the amount of fireworks we use, so that our prayers or demands are heard by ganesha!!!! Otherwise ganesha will end up becoming deaf and will hear none….

FANTASIA OF THE MOONLIT WORLD

PART3: PHANTOMS OF ANIMA MERCURY

And from the bending light, appeared
Forms of glowing apparitions
Which, over the grass, shone and shimmered,
Forms of pure Creation!

And in a voice, melodious beyond conceiving,
‘Round the gem, they began to sing,
A hymn, so ancient, beyond perceiving
As they formed the Sacred Ring

“When God gave form to all existence,
And from existence, the Sun took birth,
And from the Solar-wind’s dance
Came into being, beloved Earth,

The universe, long at last
Stood, of His crafty hands, created
All, in its bonds of love, were clasped,
And Earth, its crown-jewel elected.

Then He created Thee,
Our master, Lord of Animus
Into Her, life to breathe,
To give true form to dust

And Thou sent forth Thy mercurious crust
From thy clasps, forever set free,
To infuse the statues of stone and dust
With essence of Anima Mercury!

And we, Thy messengers and worshipers, alike
We, the seven spirits of Fantasy
Rose forth from the spire of crystal spikes
The Great Infusion, to oversee

Under Thy keen, watchful eye,
We embellished the Earth with life;
That life which lived and died,
Loved and hated, in harmony and in strife

And when our grand mission
Stood, long at last, completed,
The Turquoise gem of creation
Thou gifted us, exalted!”

Their Hymn to the moon now ended.
With the Master’s blessing earned,
And all that needed saying said,
Their gaze towards me turned.

FANTASIA OF THE MOONLIT WORLD

PART2: THE MASTER OF THE NIGHT
Then, floating and climbing, ever so slow,
The master of the night rose over the dunes
Catching the air in its silvery glow,
Making it dance to the unheard tune

In the coldest night, warmth he did feign
Drowned in flames of silver
In his stately stare, the world did gleam,
In a light devoid of color!

In the new silence that formed,
My fear melted away.
The world, by me once scorned,
Caught me in my way!

With questions, too many (my mind seared)
The answers to them I could not see,
Then, before me, the wisps appeared
Chanting and gliding, as if trying to lead me.

Reluctant, yet curious, I followed them,
Unwaveringly, over the sand they went
To the plain of the Turquoise Gem
‘Round which all light bent!
