Hi people! I have come up with an interesting article today... an article on 'Indian riders' (I'm talking about the bike riders, not the cow/buffalo riders)(hilarious, but true.)
Based on what i feel, seriously, Nobody can ever ride like an Indian.
Well yeah, a Japanese citizen, from Tokyo may ask me this: "Dude, we have traffic 24 X 7 in here, more than any of your biggest cities have ever witnessed." I may answer to him by saying, "dude. Look, you ride on roads, we ride on what seem to be terrains.
You may have cars, trucks, bikes on the road. We have an added bonus. We ride amongst a buffalo stampede.
You find it difficult to dodge trucks and cars, we master the skill of reading a buffalo's mind while it crosses the damn street. We would be the best management in the world, in terms of traffic if we were not a subcontinent."
Maybe he'll be gaping at me by now. Then I may add saying, "Now, you know...." He may interrupt me by saying, "Yeah bro, Nobody does ride like an Indian. HATS OFF! teach me some riding, will you? *:)* "
Riding in big cities now has become a very dangerous challenge. Due to the link of villages to cities (a good sign of development, but) , the amount of animals, we riders encounter everyday is rapidly increasing. Measures have to be taken to avoid this, to ensure the safety of both, riders and the animals.
However, people seem to get a hold of riding even in these conditions, and that's exactly why I like my country and the people :) Nobody can ever be like an Indian and that's something we need to be proud of!
But yeah, have to say...
if these animals, the guys changing buses on the traffic signal, the idiotic people blocking the free turn on the left side, the annoying bus horns, the horrid smoke from the auto-rickshaws, the freaked out dog that may run on the road any moment, and the 'day-dreaming-road-blocking-absent-minded-pedestrians' who walk in an undecipherable path actually make the normal seeming journey a great adventure!
Who knows, we might encounter this someday, as well! ;)
