“It's
the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
-Paulo Coelho -The
Alchemist.
A Dream come true…
Today, one of
ISRO’s biggest dreams has been realized. India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM)
has been successful in placing a Satellite in orbit around the red planet. ISRO
now stands as only the fourth Space Agency to have launched a satellite to Mars
after the Soviet space program, NASA,
and the European Space
Agency, and the first to have achieved this
milestone in the very first attempt.
Let us not forget to acknowledge, that this
achievement would not have been possible, without the world sharing its
knowledge with us. It is because of the attempts made by other countries, their
failures and successes that we could learn from, and use this knowledge in our version.
This confirms the nature of man and the inevitability of rising together.
At the same time the grit and determination
shown by our scientists in developing indigenous capabilities, battling against
technology restrictions by the developed few, needs to be commended whole
heartedly. Kudos to our Space Scientists!
This dream was dreamt just three
years ago and seeing it accomplished must be a great moment to all our
scientists. This achievement will definitely give a thrust to our scientist
community for taking on more seemingly impossible dreams and accomplishing them.
Chak De India!! We hope to see great leaps in all the varied fields of science in
the coming years for the benefit of humanity.
